The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Professor Shehu Usman Adamu, has been formally invited and appointed to serve as the Pioneer Chairman of the Board of Incorporated Trustees, Network for the Promotion of Security and Safety of Cadastral Zone C00, Abuja.

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter signed by the Executive Director of the Network, Mr. Fredrick A. Hayes, which informed the DVC that his nomination and unanimous appointment were made during the Network’s inaugural board meeting held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at the IHVN Conference Room in Abuja.

The decision, he noted, followed thorough deliberations by members of the board.

Hayes stated that Prof. Adamu’s selection was anchored on his impeccable record of service, administrative expertise, and academic leadership; attributes that have become trademarks of his leadership at NOUN.

The Executive Director added tat his exemplary performance as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) clearly positioned him as the most suitable figure to guide the organisation through its foundational stage.

The Network expressed optimism that under DVC’s leadership, the board would successfully pursue its aims and objectives, particularly in strengthening security and safety within Cadastral Zone C00 of the Federal Capital Territory.

His leadership is expected to bring direction, credibility, and strategic insight to the organisation’s operations, he disclosed.

The appointment came with an initial tenure of two years, with the possibility of renewal for an additional two years depending on satisfactory performance as assessed by the board.

This structure, the letter explained, ensures accountability and continuity in achieving the Network’s long-term vision.

Mr. Hayes, on behalf of the Network, congratulated Professor Adamu on the appointment and conveyed warm regards, expressing confidence in his capacity to lead effectively.

He also assured the DVC of the board’s full cooperation and support as he takes on this new role.
